Large and very heavy, iron Louis XIV fireback.
Dating from the 18th century, this cast iron fireplace plate represents Love as a Blacksmith. Cupid is depicted forging two hearts together.
With two inscriptions
'De ces deux coeur je n'en fait qu'un. [Trans : 'Of these two hearts I make only one]
'Amour est un grand ouvrier' [Trans : Love is a great worker]
