Item Details

Large and atmospheric Mid-Century French oil on canvas painting, depicting a charming interior scene with an open doorway leading to a sunlit garden path. A black cat sits silhouetted in the threshold, while a flowering potted plant rests on a rustic table beside a framed portrait, creating a warm and evocative domestic composition.

Executed with expressive brushwork and a naïve, folk-art sensibility, the painting captures the intimacy of a lived-in rural home. The artist employs a rich palette of earthy reds, ochres, greens and soft greys, drawing the eye from the interior space through the open door into the landscape beyond.

Signed lower right, the artist’s signature and date is indistinct. Unframed. A decorative and highly displayable work, notable for its generous square format and appealing narrative subject matter.

Good vintage condition overall. Minor wear to canvas edges and stretcher consistent with age. Presented unframed.
