 A characterful Mid-Century French still life painted in oil on canvas.


Depicting a carefully arranged composition of bound volumes, fruit and a glass oil lamp set against a decorative ground. The work is executed in a restrained palette of ochres, tobacco browns and olive tones, with confident textured brushwork lending depth and atmosphere to the composition. The painting retains a distinctly modernist decorative quality, balancing geometric form with soft tonal modelling, and is presented in its original painted moulded frame.
