A charming Mid-Century French still life by Jean Perret.


Depicting a large terracotta vessel overflowing with yellow flowers before a window opening onto the hazy hills of Provence. Richly textured with palette-knife passages and thick impasto, the painting captures the warmth and light of the Mediterranean landscape. The contrast between the exuberant floral arrangement and the tranquil mountain backdrop lends the work a timeless decorative appeal. It is a particularly evocative example of Perret’s work in the South of France.

Jean Perret exhibited in Lyon and Paris and later spent much of his life in the south of France. He served as President of the Jury of the Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts.
