Depicting the Venetian Carnival unfolding before the Gothic façade of the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Square. Elegant masked figures dance and promenade across the piazza beneath celebratory fireworks, rendered in a spirited, impasto technique that brings movement and atmosphere to the scene.


The palette of soft pastels and deep evening blues captures the romance and theatricality synonymous with Venice. Signed lower right. Titled 'Carnaval de Venise' verso, unframed.
