An elegant set of four mid-20th Century French wrought-iron folding chairs of the 'Bouchon de Champagne' type.


Hand-forged with twisted iron frames, curled feet and circular riveted metal seats, the sculptural backs fold neatly to allow each piece to function equally well as a chair, stool or occasional table. The chairs possess the quiet character of traditional French café and vineyard furniture.


Both practical and decorative, they lend an understated rustic sophistication to terraces, garden rooms or informal interiors.


The iron retains its original patina, which has been stabilised and sealed for preservation.
