An outstanding Early 19th Century painting, in oil, though unsigned of a woman standing by a fence holding a large straw hat. and dressed in the costume of the 'Jane Austin' period. The painting is French and the setting is in the countryside. The painting is unframed and in good condition. though with an ancient repair on the reverse of the canvas.
