Item Details

A fabulous colour to this antique French circa 1900 metal grape hod. The red/pink colour is very appealing and it has naturally aged and weathered to a perfect finish.

In very good original condition, there are no holes or worn through areas and it remains in a completely useable and useful state and will add a real Mediterranean feel to your outside or inside space.

The French refer to these as Hotte's, meaning a basket carried on your back and they are getting harder to find since they stopped using them some years ago now for their original purpose, due to mechanisation, but that means we get to enjoy them as garden containers, filled to the brim with flowers, or a popular use is to use them in the Summer months as ice coolers for your Champagne, wine or soft drinks. A unique party accessory.
