Item Description
Of particularly large size, is this original rectangular circa 1920/30s English Brooke Bond Tea enamel advertising sign that is in incredibly good condition given it's age. Probably due to either having been stored and not erected or used inside a shop or building where it was protected.
The colours are still so vibrant and the orange is very even throughout. The typography is in the usual black and is in excellent condition with the main area of the sign with virtually no loss as per pictures. The black and white border also remains in very good condition, displaying some rust to the very outer edges as would be expected for an item of this age.
Produced by the Patent Enamel Co. of Birmingham and bearing this to the bottom right of the sign. This company was the first, in 1889, to build a factory specifically devoted to the production of enameled iron sign making.
A real statement wall piece.
