An XL art deco era wall mounted hat and coat rack. French, c.1920


A substantial and beautifully made piece in solid brass, produced to a notably high standard. This Ex Railway luggage rack uses cast brackets with crisp detailing, supporting three top rails over a single square lower rail fitted with moveable hooks. The brass has mellowed to a warm, even patina that suits the period. A striking and practical addition to a hallway or cloakroom, and increasingly hard to find complete, undamaged and in this impressive size.
