A large pair of blacksmith made wall sconces. c.1910


A striking pair of iron wall sconces, forged by hand and retaining their original gilt finish, now softened to a wonderfully warm patina through age. The metalwork shows the clear, confident shaping of a skilled blacksmith, with decorative scrolls and floral detailing that give each sconce strong period presence. Finished with crisp white opaline glass globes that provide a clean, elegant contrast to the aged iron. Priced as a pair.
