Item Details

A remarkable run of 12-inch Holophane ‘Reflector–Refractor’ pendant lights, made in England c.1920.

Recovered from Quarr Abbey on the Isle of Wight, each pendant has survived in exceptional, untouched condition. The three-part prismatic glass reflector, including the original bottom cup, is carried by its copper gallery, stamped with the Holophane maker’s mark. All glass components are likewise Holophane stamped.

Holophane were pioneers of prismatic glass lighting from the late 19th century onward, developing their signature ‘Reflector-Refractor’ system to control and soften light with remarkable efficiency. By the 1920s their fittings were widely used in industrial, civic, and ecclesiastical settings, prized for both performance and durability - qualities clearly reflected in this surviving run. Price is per light.

Rewired with black twisted flex. Length of chain included.
