A very huge and most  extraordinary artisan sculptural burnt wood Oak coffee/display table on two huge Ash pedestal  supports, the magnificent sculptural  ancient oak top has many time-worn imperfections including  bracings to manage the mature splits

This huge one-off artisan  coffee/display table  measuring over 13 feet long  was recently commissioned for Anton & K  and made in two purpose-crafted oak  sections made from a matching pair of linear mature oak trees felled for safety in a built-up area in rural Wales, the tree was approx 100+ years, and the pedestal supports are in Ash

This truly sublime artisan sculptural Oak coffee/display table has the most luxurious and sumptuous finish, this organic piece is influenced by a passion for the natural imperfections of fallen trees, sourced by the maker Studio Anj in rural Wales. 

Individual, age-old wood forms are considered for the beauty of their grain, flaws, and imperfections - debarked, then cut and shaped by hand, to showcase fresh, new abstract forms. 

Equally, at home in both traditional and more contemporary settings, the coffee/display table is a timeless design that will add individuality and impact, within both home and commercial interior spaces.  

The Coffee table is hand-finished in natural hard wax oil, and the Oak  hand-shaped top is a huge thick 10 cm top

This huge coffee table is finished with a technique called Shou Sugi Ban. It is a Japanese technique of preserving wood. The surface is charred with fire and then sanded back to a smooth surface. It is commonly used for the exterior cladding of buildings where the charred timber protects against insects and is a water repellant. In this case, the technique has been used to artistically enhance the appearance of this Japanese low table surface, accentuating the strong vivid grain of the Oak tree.
