A lovely late 19th century hand stitched American Lily Of The Field quilt.
The colours are still really good, the stitching is great and the batting thin and soft.
The quilt is in great shape, it is completely whole with just a few small spots as we have not cleaned it.
Size 69” x 89” / 175.26cm x 226.06cm
Green and red quilts in America were popular between 1840-1880, this one has been well looked after, infrequently washed and stored well.
A gorgeous example and a lovely collectors piece which can still be used for its original purpose…and it just looks great too!
