Impressive 1970s striped Murano art glass ceiling light attributed to AV Mazzega. The shape is known as Fazzoletto due to its resemblance to a large handkerchief that seems to have been thrown over a light bulb with a soft sway like a summer dress caught in a light breeze. A stunning piece of true Italian artistry with the use of thick Murano glass in cream white and honey yellow stripes with small decorative air bubbles all over. Shiny golden metal mount, chains of small metal pearls and polished canopy. Fitting for E27 bulb. The beautiful Murano glass chandelier Fazzoletto made in Italy in the 1970s.
A yellow glass shade with a "Pulegoso" treatment that adds precious texture. The "pulegoso" glass is made using a method that was often used in the 1920s, with the addition of gasoline to thereby cause the glass to boil in a melt. Countless tiny air bubbles of irregular shape inside the glass mass deliberately limit its transparency.

The lamp is in very good vintage condition.
