Striking Italian travertine coffee table, dating from circa the 1980s, with a beautifully architectural and sculptural design.


The table is entirely executed in warm beige travertine, displaying the characteristic natural veining, tonal variations and porous structure of the stone. The generous rectangular top is softened by large rounded corners and gently curved edges, giving the substantial stone construction an elegant, flowing appearance.


The base is particularly distinctive. Thick travertine supports wrap around the corners in a waterfall-style construction, creating a strong geometric silhouette while maintaining the softness of the rounded design. Viewed from different angles, the overlapping stone elements give the table an almost sculptural quality.


With its generous 140 cm width, this is an impressive statement coffee table, ideally suited to a large living room, contemporary interior or sophisticated hospitality setting.


A beautiful example of the luxurious use of natural stone in Italian postmodern and modernist furniture of the 1980s.
