Lovely quality made from solid walnut, we have a very nice dining room suite consisting of sideboard, 4 chairs and a matching extending dining table. The set is made by B.Cohen and Son and comes with maker’s labels to the sideboard and table.

From the early 1930s, this set is exquisite in detail with the use of ebony, walnut, mother of pearl and other exotic woods to form fine details in marquetry of flowers and butterflies and not forgetting the details to the edges and corners. Wonderful British craftsmanship throughout the set.

Workshop report – All pieces sit in good order with no movement in joints or colour fade etc. We have the extended piece for the table which sits underneath the top when not in use. The seat pads are a little frayed at the corners but the chevron patterned woven fabric is perfectly serviceable and comfortable - we can reupholster at the cost of £45 per chair plus fabric, around 2 metres would be required. The table is firm but does have marks and scratches to it but perfectly useable, as does the sideboard which does possess its original locks and two keys. We have a few very small nips/losses to the edge of the table but not new. You could of course repolish the table and sideboard however we feel the original finish takes some beating!

For any large items that require two people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item.  If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with moving the item. We are happy to quote for a two person delivery if required.
