A magnificent C1940s. Brass and Marble Top Centre Table, by Jean-Charles Moreux (1889-1956), having an extremely rare, thick "Negro Marquino" marble top, on a circular brass base, supported by four solid stylised brass legs, with horse heads, arched necks and hoof feet. There are four curved metal spaces between the legs. The marble top has recently been re-polished.
This very stylish and important piece is hugely versatile: it could used as a centre table in an important hallway or entrance; a drawing room; library; study; dining-room or orangery. It would work extremely well as as an elegant dining table, given the good diameter of the marble.
