Item Description
A rare and original c.1920 wooden articulated advertising counter display hand, created for the prestigious glove maker Dents of Worcester, England (est. 1777).
Beautifully crafted in solid wood, the hand features spring-articulated fingers and wrist, mounted on a sturdy circular base boldly carved with the maker’s name “DENTS.” Standing 45 cm tall, this display piece was once a centerpiece in luxury glove shops and department stores, used to present fine leather gloves in the most elegant fashion.
About Dents (Established 1777)
Founded in Worcester by John Dent, the company quickly earned a reputation for producing the finest handmade gloves, using premium leathers and exceptional craftsmanship.
By the 19th century, Dents gloves were favored by royalty, aristocracy, and fashionable society across Europe. The tradition continues today, with the brand supplying the British Royal Family and featuring in films such as the James Bond franchise.
