Item Details

An original Carpathian chest dating to the 1700's the oldest of which I have had in my possession. Crafted from beech which is akin to the Carpathian forests with apotropaic carvings (witches marks to ward off evil spirits and the likes) fortunately or maybe unfortunately it has had the base replaced in its aged life. Hewn boards with bags of character, Historic worm but long gone and a rich dark luster. A rather lovely piece of folkart, 38"w x 19"d x 18"h.
