Item Details

This huge scale striking pair of Terracotta “Jarre d’Anduze” urns perfectly epitomise the enduring elegance and craftsmanship of southern France. Hand-crafted in the mid 20th century in the village of Anduze, set in the Cévennes region, these urns are part of a rich pottery tradition dating back to the early 1600s. Inspired by the classical Medici form, their design continues a legacy shaped by centuries of skilled artisanship.

Each urn features the signature garland decoration in relief, a hallmark of Anduze production, and is finished in a pale cream glaze that has beautifully aged over the years. The surface patina, with areas of flaking and gentle wear, reveals layers of history and use—bringing depth, warmth, and an authentic French character to the pieces.

Perfect for a garden, orangery, or interior setting, these urns have strong sculptural presence and decorative appeal. Whether planted or left unadorned, they offer a graceful nod to Provençal heritage and are ideal for those looking to incorporate genuine French design aesthetic into their home or landscape.
