A monumental pair of cast iron campana garden urns of classical form, dating from the late 20th century.


Exceptionally large in scale, each urn is raised on its socle pedestal with a square base. The broad, flared bowls are enriched with bold gadrooned ornament to the rim and lower body, creating a striking silhouette inspired by the classical forms of the ancient Roman campana vase.


Beautifully weathered from decades outdoors, the cast iron has developed a rich surface with natural oxidation, lending the pair a wonderful sense of maturity and architectural presence. Their substantial weight and robust construction make them equally suited to framing an entrance, terrace or formal garden, while their restrained classical design complements both traditional and contemporary landscapes.
