Item Details

Superior quality French burr walnut and marble top chest of drawers or commode c.1860. Original and very well figured grey marble top rounded front corners and a moulded edge. Over a chest of four long drawers. Burr walnut veneers arranged in a striking symmetrical pattern across the front. Shallow top drawer with shaped front (continued on the sides of the cabinet), the three deeper drawers below within a reeded surround (an unusual feature). All four drawers with inlaid brass escutcheons. Moulded plinth veneered to match and raised on the original feet. Solid walnut sides and (unusually) drawer linings. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied.
