https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/collinge-antiquesLate 17th.c. oak chest of drawers c.1680. Constructed in two pieces (typical of the form), comprising four long drawers. Top made from narrow oak boards with an applied moulded edge. Moulded drawer fronts with a cushion front to the larger second drawer in the upper section. The brass drop handles and decorative pierced brass escutcheons are later but of the correct style for the period. Moulded trim between the drawers and around the upper and bottom edge of the lower sections. Oak drawer linings, note the drawer bases running front to back and the grooved sides to receive the drawer runners, both typical of 17th.c. cabinet making. Oak panelled sides and rear. Very good colour and condition, with some previous repairs and restorations, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
