Superb late 19th.c. oriental dinner gong and stand c.1890. 17½" diameter hammered bronze gong with a raised centre. Hung on a remarkable hardwood stand densely carved and pierced on both sides with a design of cherry blossom branches. Rising to the hollow carved top, pierced on three sides and featuring a disc representing the moon. Sold with the original woven string bound clapper with carved handle. Excellent condition and good tone to the gong. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
