Very smart French Empire dressing table c.1820. 19.5 x 27" arch top mirror within a flame mahogany veneered frame with a chased brass moulding to the inner edge. Angle adjustable on mahogany veneered columns with splendid Egyptian inspired brass mounts top and bottom. Glim grey marble top over a single drawer with a fitted interior. Symmetrically arranged veneers to the drawer front with a large decorative pierced brass escutcheon plate. Raised on tapering column legs front and rear also with fine chased brass mounts top and bottom. Joined with bowed stretchers, also veneered to match and with the original brass castors below the feet. Earlier repairs to the front corners of the marble. Otherwise excellent colour and condition. Fitted with a new mirror plate, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
