Fabulous large and very sturdy handmade elm and metalwork coffee table, produced as a bespoke piece (commissioned by the previous owner) by the acclaimed modern Scottish furniture designer Paul Hodgkiss c.1994. 1½" thick elm boards of beautiful curving grain and sections of burr, with an irregular wavy join down the centre, inlaid brass elements at each corner where the legs pierce the top and with the original natural edge preserved on one side. Raised on stout steel legs with spiral copper decoration and turned and moulded elm feet. Very good condition.
