Very smart French Louis XVI style marble top commode or chest of drawers c.1960. Superb marble top with pronounced grey and purple figuring, rounded front corners and a moulded edge. Over a chest of four drawers. Sparkling tulipwood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern on the drawer fronts with inlaid stringing and mahogany crossbanding. Quality gilded brass laurel wreath ring handles and escutcheons. Gilded brass mounts to the shoulders. Cabinet ends veneered to match. Raised on short mahogany tapering, turned and fluted legs front and rear. Oak drawer linings and back. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
