Item Details

Very smart early 20th.c. French Louis XVI style side cabinet c.1930. Highly figured 1¼" thick marble top with canted corners and a moulded edge. Over a two door cabinet (internal depth 12"), a single drawer and a single door cabinet in the base fitted with a shelf inside. Bright tulipwood veneers arranged in a crossbanded and symmetrical pattern across the front and sides, with inlaid borders and decorative brass mounts and escutcheons. Note the vertical moulding on the lower door to resemble the slats of a tambour. Shaped apron with a brass mount at the centre and shaped front legs with a crossbanded edge brass mounts to the feet. Superior quality with solid mahogany groundwork, oak drawer linings and back panels. Excellent colour and condition, keys supplied for all three locks.
