Item Details

Delightful little George III country made oak bureau or writing desk c.1800. Useful small size, just 37" wide at the base. Open the fall to make a good sized work surface (height 31") with pigeon holes and ten small mahogany fronted stationery drawers above. Two short and three long drawers of graduated height below the desk. Oak drawer fronts with cockbeaded edges and large brass knobs. Moulded trim around the base and raised on shaped bracket feet at the front and sides. Solid oak sides, unusual lime wood drawer linings, note also the elm board used in the base of the bureau interior. Excellent colour and condition, restored cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
