Fine quality little Louis XV style French bombé bureau or writing desk c.1960. Just 28" wide. Open the fall to reveal a leather writing surface and fitted interior with a shelf and three small drawers with shaped fronts in highly figured burr elm. The base of the interior, also in burr elm, slides open to allow access to the space below. Superb parquetry work decoration in contrasting mahogany and rosewood with inlaid stringing across the top, front and sides of the exterior. Good quality brass mounts to the corners of the bureau and at the top of the front legs. Brass escutcheon and handles inside. Shaped apron to all sides and slim curving legs with brass mounts to the feet front and rear. Excellent colour and condition. Key supplied.
