Splendid walnut sofa by the quality English cabinet makers A.Blain of Liverpool c.1870. Raked and button upholstered backrest and curving and padded arms over a deep sprung seat. Exposed walnut frame and crisp turned arm supports. Turned front legs and raised on white ceramic castors. Stamped for A.Blain Liverpool on the rear right hand leg. Note also the arrowhead and date stamp suggesting it was once crown, government or military property. Very good condition with serviceable upholstery.
