Early 19th.c. oak Welsh dresser base, South Wales c.1810. Solid oak top (note the 15" deep front board) with an applied moulding to the underside of the edge. Over five drawers with a simple moulded detail to the drawer fronts and splendid original oversized brass hoop handles and backplates. Triple arch apron, the taller centre arch having a mahogany crossbanded surround, with a cockbeaded bottom edge. Raised on four nicely turned column front legs over an open potboard display shelf with oak boards. Applied moulding around the base and shaped bracket feet to the front and sides. Oak panelled sides, with the moulded edge repeated from the drawer fronts. Very good colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
