Charles II Oak Chest on Stand.


This outstanding and original Charles II ( 1660-1685) Chest on Stand is of wonderful even colour and patination. 


The five drawers of bold geometric design, four to the chest and one to the stand, run very smoothly, have brass pull handles and are oak lined. The sides are panelled and the base has turned legs and a shaped stretcher all of which reflects the opulent taste of the late 17th Century.


Bought privately this chest on stand has been well loved and looked after from the Country House it was purchased from.


It is in good solid order with minimal wear and tear with the addition of a small mouse size hole to the left side with a permanent resident as shown in the photographs.
