Victorian Linen Press by James Shoolbred, London


Victorian solid walnut Linen press by renowned makers James Shoolbred, London.


The upper section consists of four sliding trays with a rack to hang ties on the inside of the right hand door, all sitting above two short and two long drawers.


Each lock is stamped for James Shoolbred. Solid, attractive, practical piece of furniture in original condition.


Circa 1880.


James Shoolbred also referred to as Jas Shoolbred, began as a department store on Tottenham Court road, London in the 1820's. They began by selling textiles and by the 1860's were designing and selling their own high quality furniture. By the mid 1880's they were granted a royal warrant.
