It’s hard to know the exact date of stick chairs as there are seldom records and the simple designs were used over centuries. This one was sourced in Anglesey where it had been in the same family for over ninety years, and likely had a life before that. With its highly sculptural, simple shape it could be mistaken for a piece of contemporary design. A really lovely little chair with a big presence and a good example of simple Welsh primitive furniture.
