Fossilised fish plates are like a photograph of the earth’s prehistoric past. This piece shows various layers and tones of stone, revealing fossil fish and plants which are several million layers apart. Ready to hang in a custom built metal tray frame this an extraordinary piece of natural history.


This large fish mural dates back to the early Eocene; 50 million years ago. Quarried from the Green River Formation of Southwestern Wyoming, it contains various extinct species including Knightia eocaena, Diplomystus dentatus and Priscacara liops.
