A Charles II period oak side table, the three-board moulded edge top set over a deep frieze, all raised on four bobbin-turned legs, united by an elevated pair of bobbin-turned facade stretchers above a low H-stretcher.


Constructed at the height of the Restoration enthusiasm for continental bobbin-turning, the intricate underframe uses offset horizontal planes to achieve exceptional structural rigidity. Finished cleanly on all sides with a versatile footprint, its multi-tiered bobbin framework makes it ideal as an architectural side table beside a sofa or as a standalone accent in a window bay.


Very good antique condition, displaying an attractive deep patina and surface wear consistent with age. Structurally solid and ready for immediate placement.
