Item Details

An Early 20th Century brass cigar stand, the dished tray featuring integrated cigar rests and three small well-worn cast tortoises around a central acorn finial, set over a slender faux-bamboo brass column, and raised on a heavy cast brass base modelled as a tortoise.


Standing at ideal armchair height, this characterful piece serves as a functional accent beside a library chair or within a traditional country house smoking room. The heavy, self-weighted base ensures excellent stability on both polished timber floors and thick carpets. The 1.5cm gauge of the four rests is purposefully proportioned to cradle traditional slim cigars and panatelas of the era.


Very good antique condition, the brass displays a mellow golden lustre with pronounced, honest wear to the high-contact highlights and a rich, authentic verdigris patina within the recesses. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
