Item Details

A George III Sheraton period mahogany kneehole desk, the flame-figured top crossbanded in satinwood with a geometric marquetry border, quarter-paterae inlays to the corners and centred by an inlaid shell medallion. An integral brushing slide sits above a configuration of graduated drawers, all with matching geometric marquetry borders, flanking a recessed central cupboard with a further shell patera, all raised on shaped bracket feet.

Reflecting the neat proportions of classic Sheraton design, the piece serves beautifully as a functional writing desk or dressing table for a principal bedroom.

Very good antique condition, with some light surface wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.

English, circa 1790.
