https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/foundersA late 19th century oak hall chair, the deeply carved and pierced arched cresting rail and turned finials above a fielded back panel inset with a geometric marquetry armorial shield, set over a plank seat with a moulded frame, all raised on turned front legs united by stretchers and terminating in brass castors.
An architectural statement piece in the Jacobean revival style, combining a formal, high-backed presence with a lower seat profile ideally suited for a grand entrance hall, corridor or gallery landing.
Very good antique condition, with some surface wear consistent with its age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place.
English, circa 1890.
