Item Details

A late 19th century bamboo occasional table of square form, the decorative original painted japanned top, raised on gently splayed legs united by a lower tier and reinforced with decorative side braces.


The bamboo surfaces display an exceptional vibrancy of colour and the contrast with the attractive, well-worn painted japanned top creates a striking visual effect typical of Aesthetic Movement bamboo furniture of the period.


Very good antique condition with some surface wear consistent with age and use. The lower tier is a later replacement. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
