Item Details

A late 19th century oak tripod stool, the circular top deeply hand-carved with a central sunflower rosette and continuous foliate border over a punched stippled ground, set over three splayed bobbin-turned legs united by a bobbin stretcher centred with a turned finial boss.


Reflecting a distinct late Victorian design transition, the piece marries 17th-century Jacobean Revival country turnery with Arts & Crafts botanical carving, anchored by the central sunflower motif popularised by the Aesthetic Movement.


Very good antique condition, with some minor surface wear and a stable historic grain split to the top consistent with genuine period age. Structurally all solid and ready to place in the home.
