https://www.decorativecollective.com/dealers/foundersA late 19th century country stool, the rounded single-piece well-figured elm seat raised on four splayed turned beech legs with attractive waisted necks and well-worn turned button feet, united by a staggered double-tier turned stretcher frame.
Exemplifying traditional English vernacular craft, its broad splayed stance and compact footprint make it ideal as a hearthside seat, hall perch or even a small low side table beside an armchair.
Very good antique condition, retaining a characterful patination and authentic surface wear consistent with age. Structurally tight and sound throughout, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1890.
