A set of three late Victorian mahogany salon chairs, the attractive backs with shaped cresting rails featuring carved Neoclassical urns and incised mid-rails, set above finely upholstered seats, all raised on turned fluted front legs.


Exhibiting the eclectic sophistication of late 19th-century workshop craft, the set synthesises French Louis XVI architectural turnings with English Sheraton carving and subtle Aesthetic Movement incised detailing.


Ideal for flexible social use, floating as accent seating in a drawing room, suitable to be drawn to an occasional writing table or or positioned neatly within a bay window.


Very good antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
