Very elegant antique French Louis Philippe gilt mirror in excellent condition.

It has its tall, real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame in a subtly etched floral and leaf design. There are no chips.

It has its original real mercury glass plate which is absolutely beautiful and dates it from the early 1800s. Mercury glass was not made after 1840 and gives a sparkle and reflection like no other.

It also has its original oak panelled back.

This mirror would have been used as an overmantel above a firelplace in an elegant room but would look equally lovely hanging alone on a large wall.
