Stunning 19th century French gilt Louis XV mirror.

It dates from around 1880 and is in superb condition.

It has its very ornate real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame with an ornate shell and floral crest and lovely side scrolls. There are no chips.

It has its original bevelled glass in excellent condition with no scratches.

It has all its orginal backboards.

This mirror was an overmantel above a large fireplace in a house in the South of France but could also be used as a freestanding leaner mirror or hung on a large wall.
