Item Details

An opulent and finely carved Italian Baroque Revival giltwood mirror dating from the late 19th century. The frame features an elaborately hand-carved acanthus leaf and floral motif, richly adorned with original water-gilded finish over gesso. The mirror has a deep relief profile and displays classical scrollwork with high visual drama, typical of the Baroque aesthetic. Circa 1880.
