Circa 1920s. A patented mahogany valet stand, with an elongated upright with a shaped splat, with a hanger-shaped top, the well-shaped seat with a pair of demi-lune drawers beneath, one fitted for studs and collars, the square uprights form the back legs, the front with simple cabriole legs, braced by conforming stretchers, the back of the chair has a ‘Registration label no. 771317’, and the label of the maker’ Papworth Industries, Cambridge’ with a ‘Royal Warrant’ above it in red.
