Circa 1860. A mid-Victorian burr walnut inlaid and ormolu-mounted credenza of exhibition quality, the top in the finest burr walnut with a gilded beaded fore-edge, the frieze with foliate inlay with an ormolu-mounted circular jasper panel, the bottom with a pair of inlaid doors with large
mounted oval jasper panel in each, with gilded mounts in the corners, foliate inlay and beadings, flanked by a pair of Corinthian columns with gilded capitals, fluted and gilded columns and stylish bases, the sides with a pair of curved and glazed doors, the base with stylish and gilded moulding, all resting on an enclosed walnut plinth which follows the form of the top.
